What information do we collect?
How do we use your information?
When you register, respond to a survey/advertisement, or buy some cool software from us this is how we are going to use the info we collect:
How do we protect visitor information?
We use the latest security technology to make sure your info is safe. It’s all behind secured networks with only a very limited number of people who need access having permissions to see it and who are required to keep the information confidential. When you place orders or access your account info, we use a secure server. Anything sensitive such as credit information you supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is then encrypted into our databases and can only be seen or used as stated above. Do we use “cookies”?
Yes, pretty much like everyone else who sells anything on the internet. We need to use cookies, which are just small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow.) This enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information to make your experience with us faster for you. If we didn’t use them, our system would not be able to remember and process the items in your shopping cart. Another example of use is that we can suggest other similar items that you might be interested in based on past purchases or items you looked at. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data (not anything that is identifiable about you specifically) about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better options and tools in the future. We might also use a third-party provider to help us understand visitors to the site and the kinds of things they show interest in. If we do contract with an outside service provider they are NOT permitted to use the information collected on our behalf in any way except to help us improve our service to our customers. We promise that we will NOT transmit any personal identifiable information to these third party service providers or anyone else that doesn’t require it (like the credit card processor) to conduct business. You can turn off all cookies if you want, or set a warning on your computer about cookies. This would need to be done by you through a browser like Firefox, Safari, Chrome etc. Check your help menu on your browser to see how this is done. Keep in mind if you do turn cookies off, you won’t have access to many features and some of our services will not function properly, specifically you would not be able to make a purchase from us. Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?
We have never sold, traded or given to any outside parties any of your personally identifiable information except as described below. We have get technical here, so if your not bored already or are in need of a nap, read on! When we say “outside parties” that does not include RecordingSoftware.com, cause you know, that’s us! It also does not include any website hosting partners and any other parties who help us in operating our website, or generally conduct our business, or that we ask to help you (like manufacturer technical support), so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. If law enforcement comes knocking at our door and have the proper authorizations, we may also release your info to them. This would only be to enforce our site policies, or to protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. How can you opt-out, modify or delete information that you have provided to us?
Just go to the “My Account” section to remove your email info from our site. Or you can just click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing we send you. Any requests to remove you will take no more than 24 hours and in most cases happen instantly. If you want to delete all your info forever (dang, what did we do to make you so mad? ) just sign into the “My Account” section of our site and remove all your info. Please note that we will need keep any old order details in our database for transaction record purposes. Third party links
If you click on a third party link (such as but not limited to; videos, manufacturer links and similar) you need to check out their privacy policies. We don’t link to weird or funky sites that don’t have strong privacy stuff, but of course we don’t control these sites and so we have no responsibility or liability for anything that happens on these linked sites. Having said that, if you find any issues with any of these links or content (including links that didn’t work), please let us know. Changes to our policy
