MiniLab MkII

Since Ableton Live 9.7.2, the Minilab MkII benefits from a deeper integration as a control surface device in Live.
Rather than other devices, it has a dedicated control surface memory, allowing to switch from normal to control surface mode in a fraction of second.

To use the Minilab MkII as an Ableton Live control surface, you have to:

  • Select Minilab MkII in Ableton Live preferences > MIDI > Control Surface
  • Set the Minilab MkII on the dedicated control surface memory (memory 8)

Then, here are the functions that will be mapped on your Minilab MkII when using the memory 8:

If you quit the memory 8, you will be able to use your Minilab MkII functions normally, like:

  • Finger drumming on a drum rack with the pads
  • Controlling your V Collection synths parameters with the encoders.

Then, if you need to switch back to the control surface mode, simply recall the memory 8.
